What is breath test?

Breath test with lactose, is a safe and non-invasive that is used to detect if there is bad absorption or lactose intolerance.

What is lactose intolerance?

Is the inability to process de lactose, the milk sugar. Occurs when the person’s small intestine does not produce the enough amount of lactase (an enzyme or substance that helps in the lactose digestion). The symptoms of lactose intolerance are abdominal pain, swelling, flatulence, diarrhea with you consume milk or derivatives.

When the breath test is performed?

This test is recommended to the following cases:

  • In children or teenagers that have digestive hassles and is suspicious of lactose intolerance.
